According to Department of Transport of the Hebei Province, recently, Shijiazhuang West Toll Station, Hebei’s first unattended toll station built by Hebei Transportation Investment Group Shijiazhuang and Qingdao Company, was put into trial operation online.

The charging of Shijiazhuang West Toll Station is completed by intelligent robots, and the robot toll lane has 2 accesses and 2 exits. It is estimated that after adopting unmanned mode, 3 to 4 on-duty personnel can be reduced, and the labor cost can be saved by about 1.5 million Chinese yuan in the whole year.

The robot is blue and white, about 1m wide, 2m high and 0.4m thick. After the vehicle drives into the sensing area, the vehicle identification information will be displayed on the robot display screen. The citizens press the card pickup button to get the pass card, and the railer will automatically lift the bar to release. When driving out of the expressway, citizens put the pass card into the recycle card slot, and then pay by scanning the code through their mobile phones, and then get the invoice to drive out.

Compared with the traditional manual toll, the unattended toll station has shortened the passage time and improved the work efficiency, which can completely liberate the on-site toll collector from the traditional toll booth and provide people with more humanized on-site services such as evacuation, inspection and verification.
